Fokusindonesia.com, Jakarta, 6 February 2023 PT Steel Pipe Industry of Indonesia Tbk has successfully completed its first shipment of steel piling pipes for the construction of the Balang Island Short Span Bridge. The ASTM A252 Grade

2 pipes measure from approx. 20 meters to 32 meters in length and have a weight of approximately 16 tons each. This is just a small example of the companys support for the development of the new capital city (IKN) and other infrastructure projects in Indonesia.

With approximately 62% of its annual revenue tied to construction, utilities, and infrastructure projects, there will be more supplies for the IKN project in the future.

According to Antara news on November 10, 2022, the bridge will serve as a logistical support for the new capital city being built in Penajam Paser-Kalimantan, Indonesia.

The duplication of the Balang Island Bridges short span is being carried out to prevent traffic congestion once the bridge connecting North Penajam Paser Regency with Balikpapan City is operational in 2024.

The duplicate bridge to be built by the Ministry of PUPR will be parallel to the short span of the Balang Island Bridge, according to Nicko Herlambang. The completion of the 470-meter short span of the Balang Island Bridge was completed in 2015 using the East Kalimantan Province APBD budget of around IDR 425 billion.

Meanwhile, the construction of the 804-meter long span of the Balang Island Bridge was completed at the end of 2020, carried out by the Ministry of PUPR using the national budget of approximately IDR 1.3 trillion with a phased contract pattern.
